Hi, I’m Delaney!

My name is Dr. Delaney Dann. I am a Molecular Biologist with an enthusiasm for sharing science with my community and supporting the education and training of future scientific leaders. I currently teach Biology at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Prior to this, I worked at Scripps Research, where I supported scientists’ career and professional development through personalized advising, workshop facilitation, course instruction, and the management of a variety of training programs.

My career has spanned a variety of sectors including academia, biotech, government, and non-profit spaces. Throughout it all, I have found joy in teaching, mentoring, and communicating science with my community.

I received my B.S. in Biology from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, my Ph.D. in Biology from the University of San Diego California, and was a Genetics Education & Community Engagement Fellow at the American Society of Human Genetics & National Human Genome Research Institute.

Outside of work, I enjoy running, cycling, and baking.
